Hello Craig, Please provide us more information on the issue you are facing. Does this issue occurs in all Word document or it occurring in specific document?. Did you set any customize keyboard setting for Word? Let us verify the customize keyboard keys and check what key are assigned to ‘Italics’.
To do so please refer to the following Microsoft article and check if it helps. Please verify if CTRL+I and CTRL+SHIFT+I are assigned to Italic function. Please post back with the information asked and the result for further assistance. Hi, Parth: Thank you for your reply. Here are answers to your questions: 1.
Italics shortcut key (CTRL + i) no longer works in Word. I'm using Office 365 on a Windows 10 PC. For some reason, CTRL + i no longer italicizes text, but CTRL + SHIFT + i works. I didn't change any of the default shortcut keys. -restoring the shortcut by resetting to defaults and by resetting manually. -reinstalling Office 365. Feb 13, 2019 - Use the Alt + underlined-letter shortcut to activate menus in desktop programs on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.
The issue occurs with all Word documents, even new ones. I did not change any keyboard settings. I verified that CTRL+I and CTRL+SHIFT+I are both set to the italic function. Here's a little more information: 1. I have since confirmed that CTRL+SHIFT+I does indeed work, but CTRL+I does not. I have active virus protection and I've run a scan, which found nothing.
Could this be a problem with the normal.dotm template? Thanks again, Craig.
Hello everyone, The large amount of time spent on my computer is on tech forums helping people with malware and other PC problems. Because of this, making my text bold, italicized, underlined, and other functions, are very common and important to me on a daily basis. In other browsers, I am able to press Ctrl + B (after highlighting text) to make it bold.
This isn't the case with Google Chrome, but why? In addition to this, what we call 'BBcode' on the forums displays, while in other browsers, it does not. For example, after I've made my text bold (by having to click the 'B' in the forums interface), the BBcode will appear around it. BThis text would be bold due to the code around it./B). This would normally not be displayed, and I would like for it to go away. Since I'm obviously not technologically inept, I've gone to some lengths investigating this issue and trying different fixes.
Posting here is my last resort, and I'm hoping somebody will have some sort of answers for me before I uninstall Chrome. It'd be a shame to have to switch back, but the small conveniences are important to me when I'm working with them on a daily basis. Thanks in advanced to everyone who responds, and I should be able to respond within 24 hours if you have any questions for me. Stefan vd 4/10/2011, 2:17 น.
